THE REAL CAMERON CLARE

Is Clare’s Weekly just another blog?

If you’re looking for a blog (or magazine) which is ready to embrace a new lifestyle, and the new era that has recently begun — with positivity and an open mind — then Clare’s Weekly is the blog for you. We’re launching in the second half of 2022.

We’re based in Perth, Western Australia, and there’s a history behind Clare’s Weekly in this part of the world. It’s a very interesting history that I will delve into in the future. For now, I’d like to acknowledge the hard work of Mr William Edward Clare, (Billy), who founded the original Clare’s Weekly back in the late 1800s. I was born 42 years after Billy passed away, so of course, we never met. However, as someone who has always been inspired to practice journalism, and an author of science fiction, I hope I’m doing my relatives proud. It’s also why I am taking my time in getting this blog “just right.” Humble new beginnings here, folks.

So are “we” a niche blog? No, we’re a lifestyle blog. So I don’t think so. I intend on covering everything from cosmetics to conspiracy, sexuality to psychics, art to astronomy, and everything else in between. Most importantly, the emphasis on this publication is one of positivity and self belief. I want that to shine through. You’ll see the site evolve, in terms of its design and the content. You’ll see my writing improve with each post, at least, that’s the idea (I’m a bit rusty, I’m not gonna lie). Hopefully, this will inspire you to do what you’ve always wanted to do, and don’t be deterred by the initial steep incline when starting a new career: that is, your mind playing tricks on you: “oh, it’s too hard, I won’t be good enough, there’s already so many people doing that …” blah blah, blah.

There’s going to be something for everybody. We’ll be doing tech reviews, particularly audio/visual hardware and software, we’ll discuss film photography (more on this later), literature, beautiful works of art, style, and history.

Via our affiliate programs and partnerships, we’re able to offer our readers discounts on products that we review. We may receive a small commission when buying via an affiliate or partner, however this will not cost you anything more. In fact, we aim to offer you discounts using our exclusive affiliate coupons.

I can’t wait to start writing on this site, rather than building it. If you’ve never created a self-hosted website and blog before, you may not know why it’s takes so long! I’ll be discussing this over in our tech section very soon.

If you’re interested in contributing to the blog, then please come along for the ride. If you’d like your products reviewed, you’re more than welcome to talk to me/us.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to play around with some CSS and PHP, and get particularly finnicky about padding and margins and fonts and kerning. Thank you for reading the very first post of Clare’s Weekly 2022. The only way from here is UP!
